Journey to Organic Living
I went organic when i conceived my first baby in 2002. It wasnt a difficult decision to make. I wanted a healthier diet for myself and baby. The only thing i have to get used to is the price, which may be prohibitive at first. I tend to compare everything organic to conventional stuffs.
I started off with organic vegetables. It’s the easiest thing to tryout. I found that they are meatier and juicier than my regular bites. Eventually, i stopped eating meat, with the exception of fish and the occasional lamb. To be frank, i somehow found that i became less constipated after eating organic vegetables.
Next on the list was organic grains. I mixed brown rice with other grains and seeds like quinoa, buckwheat groats, millet, flaxseed, barley for variety. Switching between other grains like red yeast rice and green rice. Gives me more energy as opposed to a white rice diet. Being chinese, rice has always been a daily affair.
Occasionally, i do buy some organic buckwheat noodles, cha soba, spinach noodles and somen.
