What is Manuka Honey?
Manuka Honey is a proven healing honey unique to New Zealand. It is gathered from the Manuka bushes which are native to NZ. Research has proven that Active Manuka Honey improves the immune system and is recommended for assisting in the treatment of:
- sore throats
- slow healing wounds
- stomach and skin ulcers
- eczema, burns and acne
Here are some ways to use Manuka Honey:
- For stomach relief - spread 1 tbsp on bread or consume on its own morning and night.
- For wound care - clean the wound and apply generously to the affected area. Cover and change dressing at least once a day.
- For sore throats - When the first feeling of a cold comes on, take 1 tsp of Active Manuka Honey several times a day.
- As a natural sweetener for drinks and as a bread spread.
What is Active Manuka?
“Active” Manuka means that it has been laboratory tested to indicate the level of antibacterial properties in it. Active Manuka Honey has been found to be effective against antibiotic-resistant “super bugs” - strains of bacteria which are resistant to antibiotics. However, Active Manuka Honey does its work without damaging normal tissue or good bacteria the body needs to stay healthy. Active 15+ and 10+ Manuka have high anti-bacterial properties for healing purposes and Active 4 - 9+ is good for general wellbeing.

Great tips since I’m prone to sore throats. Will any brand of Manuka Honey do? How do I know if its “active”? Thanks
It’ll be indicated on the bottle itself. Just look out for the numbers. Woodland’s would be a good brand to try. Available at pharmacies.
