Is organic food worth the money?

Yes! It is. The most comprehensive review of the scientific evidence published showed that compared to non-organic produce, organic produce contains fewer pesticide residues, fewer food additives, less water (so there’s more bite in your vegetables and fruits), more minerals and Vitamin C, and more protective phytonutrients. If you want to be healthy, you need to eat the good guys, yet avoid the baddies at the same time. Organic food is not a luxury. It’s simply how food is supposed to be.

Buying things on the cheap often proves more costly in the long run. And food is just no exception. While you can save money now by buying cheap food, it may cost you your health later on in life. Today, there are organic versions of almost everything; even snacks like organic crisps, cola, ice-cream, cakes, cookies and so on. While not healthfoods themselves, they nevertheless contains fewer additives and cannot harmful ingredients like hydrogenated fats. Therefore, they are usually better choices than their non-organic equivalents. But then again, these should be eaten in moderation.
