PGD - Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis

It took my girlfriend 7 years to finally get pregnant. She got married some 10 years back. She pushed back being a mother as she wanted to concentrate on getting ahead with her career when she first got married. When she was ready to become a mother, she found that she had difficulty getting pregnant.
Despite seeing many doctors, she still couldn’t get pregnant. She tried changing her lifestyle and diet. And even went for yoga lessons to improve her overall health. Both her hubby and she also went for holidays thinking that stress may be a contributing factor to their not being able to conceive a baby. Hoping that the trips would somehow relax their mind and body and help them conceive.
Everything didn’t work. They’ve been doing that for the past 7 years. She had almost given up hope when she found a girlfriend of hers who’s like her, who’s had difficulty getting pregnant, successfully conceive a baby. Her baby was conceived via IVF, also known as In-Vitro Fertilization, a medical procedure to assist couples who has difficulty conceiving a baby.
Her girlfriend recommended that she pay a visit to fertility specialist, Dr. Randy Morris at IVF1, an In-Vitro Fertilization and PGD center located in Chicago and Naperville, Illinois. He helps couples understand and resolve infertility. Owing to her age, she underwent PGD, and surprisingly, she conceived at the first attempt. She was so happy. If only they’ve heard of PGD before. Then they wouldn’t have to wait 7 years just to see their bundle of joy finally in their hands.
