Matured American Ginseng

Compared to Asian Ginseng, American Ginseng is appreciated for its cooling but revitalising properties. It is also more effective in promoting the secretion of bodily fluids. American Ginseng aids in reducing heatiness, quenches thirst and restores energy levels. It is considered a Yin tonic while the Asian ginseng is a Qi tonic. It is excellent for chronic cough since it has a soothing effect on the lungs.

Due to these properties, American Ginseng is especially helpful to smokers, urban dwellers and people prone to fatigue and irritability. Those who lead a busy and active life, especially those who engage in a lot of mental work (bloggers like me) should drink American Ginseng tea on a regular basis to harmonise the body system and to maintain good health.

I’ve been drinking this for the past week and it has helped with my bad cough. Suggested preparation method is to double-boil. But, i’m too lazy busy. So, i put a packet (10g each) into my thermos flask and pour boiling water into it. Leave it for about 2 hours and it’ll be ready to drink.
