Eye care tips
Our eyes are probably the most crucial part of our sensory system. From the moment we wake up to the moment we sleep, it gives us the pleasure of sight. And in doing so, it has to sustain long durations of concentration, endure polluted environments, exposes itself to free radicals created by computer monitors and much more.
This causes fatigue to occur easily. So, it’s important for us to know how to care for our eyes. Here are a few eye care tips that will help ensure your eyes stay healthy:
1) Routine eye exams are the most efective way to detect eye condition early. Have them checked at least once every two years.
2) Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables like carrots, spinach, papaya and mangoes. These are rich in beta carotene which helps keep eyes healthy.
3) Have sufficient rest. Rest will refresh the eyes and help them work more effeciently.
4) Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. Direct sunlight can cause heavy damage to the eyes.
5) Avoid rubbing your eyes rigorously as this may cause injury to your eyes.
6) If you smoke, then stop the bad habit. Smoking is one of the highest risk factor for major eye diseases.
