Is suppressing your appetite a good solution to losing weight?

It’s truly amazing that there are so many weight loss supplements in the market today. Today, i heard from my girlfriend talling me about a new product that she been taking called Tenuate. She says it’s an appetite suppressant and she really doesnt feel like eating after she takes it.

Is that really a good way to lose weight. I believe a good diet coupled with regular exercise is a more effective way to maintain one’s weight. I guess many prefers to take a shortcut by popping a few magic pills and hoping it’ll somehow work wonders for them. How can one “not eat” just to lose some weight.

What about nutritional requirements. If you dont eat, your body will be deprived of essential nutrients to stay healthy. So, it really doesnt make sense to me why my friend wants to suppress her appetite just to lose a few pounds.
