Butter vs margarine

Both saturated fats can raise total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol. Therefore, try minimizing the intake of both saturated and trans fats. It’s clear that butter also contains cholesterol. The latest verdict now is to choose soft margarine instead. The American Heart Association recommends the use of soft margarine as a substitute for butter. Do read the label properly and choose one that contains zero trans fat and no more than 2g of saturated fats per tbsp with liquid vegetable oil as the first ingredient.
