Would you like to give your bathroom a makeover?

We went to look at a few show house after we picked our kid up from school this evening. It a nice place but i feel that it’ll be better if the developer do something about the road leading to the housing area. Right now, we have to make a u-turn in order to enter the new housing area. The show unit itself is well decorated and i love their bathrooms. Those bathroom vanities look exactly like those found on the link i supplied here. I was an interior designer and i place a lot of importance on the bathrooms. It’s the first place we head to the moment we wake up and most probably the last place we go before we go to bed too, lol. So, if you want to decorate your bathroom, you wont go wrong with these fine bathroom vanities. A small change here and there will spruce your bathroom up instantly.

Have you been to Las vegas?

Given the choice, i’d love to stay in one of those hotels in Vegas. My friend just got back from her honeymoon and told us what a wonderful place Las Vegas is. There’s just so much one can do in Las Vegas. Apart from the casinos and all the gambling, there are lots and lots of live shows and great restaurants there. It’s a very happening place and you should make it a must-visit on your travel itinerary for this year. I’m going to bug hubby to take me there after Chinese New Year. I think i deserve a break after entertaining all his relatives for 15 days.

Are you using legal steroids to enhance your performance in sports?

I wonder how many more cases of athletes claiming to use legal steroids during the Beijing Olympic events later on this year. Many were caught doing that during the last Olympic. Whether it’s legal or no, athletes competing in such a worldwide event should not be using any form of steroids at all. It only brings shame to the country they are representing. I had a friend who once used some legal steroids when he entered a bodybuilding competition. He won but was stripped off his title when he was found to be using banned substance to enhance his performance. So, do remember that it’s all in the name os sportsmanship to NOT use any steroids for all sporting events.

Is cooking hazardous to your health?

It’s undeniable that we have to cook everyday. Not only do we cook for ourself, we also have to cook for our family if we’ve children or older folks living with us. But do you know that cooking your food could cause serious damage to your health?

Changes take place, as food is cooked above 117 degrees Fahrenheit for three minutes or longer. Damage becomes progressively worse at higher temperatures over longer periods of time.

* 30% to 50% of vitamins, minerals and amino acids are destroyed. The degree of depletion, destruction, and alteration is simply a matter of temperature, cooking method, and time.

* 100% of enzymes are damaged and the body is depleted of the energy it needs to maintain and repair tissue and organ systems, which will shorten our lives. Eating enzyme-dead food places a burden on the pancreas and other organs and overworks them, which eventually exhausts these organs and rendering them ineffective.

* After eating a cooked meal, there is a rush of white blood cells towards the digestive tract, leaving the rest of the body less protected by the immune system. The immune system “thinks” the body is being invaded by a foreign (toxic) substance when cooked food is eaten.

* Much needed natural fibers break down and the body needs 20-30 grams of fiber daily to have the ability to remove the toxins that accumulate at a rapid rate.

* There is malnutrition at the cellular level. Cooked foods are lower in nutrients and they contain wastes and toxins. For this reason the individual cells don’t receive enough of the nutrients they need to combat the daily onslaught of excess free radicals that build up within the cells. Eventually many of the cells in our body become overworked and unable to handle the continuous attacks. The result is serious disease and illness. A prime example is cancer, which kills an estimated 30% of Americans.

Gee, we thought we were eating a healthy home cooked meal! Now because of all the changes that took place in the food when it was cooked, we’ve actually caused premature aging in our bodies. We might have even contributed to the attack of a serious illness.

What can be done to counteract all the damage done by cooking? It is virtually impossible to eat nothing but raw food. The good news is that we can live long healthy lives if we know what to do.

1. Eat lots of fresh fruit daily (certified organic when possible)

2. Eat lots of raw vegetables. Choose from romaine or leafy green lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, red sweet peppers, pea pods, etc. They are loaded with antioxidants and phytonutrients.

3. When cooking, steam your vegetables and serve on the crisp side.

4. Drink plenty of pure filtered water.

5. Take high quality nutritional supplements including antioxidants, colostrum, phytonutrients and glyconutrients.

In summary, with today’s high stress, fast paced society we’ve to be proactive about protecting our health and the health of our loved ones. Finding new tips and secrets on good health is one way of the best ways to guard against illness. For more information,

Get rid of pimples

I don’t get why most people regard high school as the happiest part of their lives. I mean, with all the growing pains, identity crises, raging hormones and hellish zits, who would ever think that high school is fun? All that and still, the desire to belong to the ‘it’ crowd which I later came to realize is just a bunch of long legs, beautiful hair and nothing more. I am more than thankful that I’ve already passed that stage. High school children act like they have the world on their shoulders, when all they’ve to focus on is how to get a passing grade and zits.

Actually, I find it funny to think that pimples start to come out when you least want them to. Just imagine asking someone to be your date for spring dance when pimples are slowly devouring what’s left of your once baby-smooth skin. Admit it, you needed serious acne help during those days. But don’t worry because other people shared your problem. Now do you still miss high school?

But sometimes, even when puberty has passed and you have overcome all your insecurities and identity crisis, pimples still stay with you. Are you one of the people who needs acne help? If so, then there might be something about your skin type. It might be naturally oily that leads to the appearance of pimples. If your oil glands are so active, it tends to produce excess oil which may clog pores, hence, skin breakout. But don’t worry because you can solve this with some acne help. Acne help suggests some substance to apply to your skin which can minimize oil production and remove dead skin cells. Some of these products include Proactive solution and Differin.

With proper application, you can clear your skin of dead skin and thus, decrease acne. As a matter of fact, my wife also needed acne help because of breakouts on her chin. Those annoying pimples were driving her crazy so much that we’d to seek acne help from a professional dermatologist. The doctor prescribed Differin cream to my wife and in just a matter of days, we have seen significant difference. Seeking for acne help really solved her pimple problems.

Hiring

My friend’s organic business is doing very well and she’s thinking of expanding it to other states soon. When she first started, it was just a small neighborhood store. She only had a part time helper that comes in in the afternoon. She now has 5 shops across town and more opening soon too. She says she needs to hire some new executives back to help her run her new stores and will be seeking the help of an executive recruiting firm. She told me she can rest assured that she’s get the right person to work for her. Well, if you are recruiting, why not check out the executive recruiting firm mentioned here?

What’s the best insomnia hormone?

Insomnia is a disorder where a person is unable to sleep for extended periods of time. Lack of sleep can be hazardous because the person who suffers from insomnia is tired all of the time which can lead to bad judgment calls and failure to being productive. Sleep grants the body to recover and refresh itself on a daily basis.

Side Effects Of Insomnia

Although insomnia can strike anyone at anytime, a person who has a high-pressure job, or a lot of worry or stress is more apt to be stricken with it.

When your body gets enough rest, you’re able to stay more focused on the tasks of the day. Lack of sleep can cause you to have slow or delayed reactions. This is blamed for millions of auto accidents each year.

There are also other affects that insomnia can cause other than lack of sleep. A person who suffers from insomnia also risks serious illness because the body’s immune system can be affected. A healthy body requires that you sleep at least eight hours a night.

Studies Of Insomnia

Studies have indicated that a hormone called Melatonin, referred to as the insomnia hormone, is responsible for putting the body to sleep. This hormone is produced in the pineal gland located in the brain. When the body does not produce enough Melatonin, insomnia is the result. When the correct amount of Melatonin is produced, it acts as a natural relaxant in the body and has even been proven to reduce body temperature.

There’s hope for those who suffer from insomnia. Medical breakthroughs happen every day. With the advances in medical science, Melatonin can now be produced synthetically.

Studies have shown that the body produces Melatonin at night or in the dark. When it is released into the body, tiredness and eventually sleep occurs.

Other studies have concluded that Melatonin is reduced, as we get older. What this means is that the elderly have more chance of suffering from insomnia than one of a younger age. Often times, a physician will prescribe an insomnia hormone in order for the person suffering to get the proper amount of sleep.

Understanding Insomnia

It is important to comprehend that the insomnia hormone cannot be thought of as a cure for insomnia it is only a treatment. It is crucial that you see your doctor in order to rule out any underlying problems. Only he or she has the ability to determine if Melatonin is the right course of treatment for you.

Insomnia is a horrible disorder that can be devastating to those who suffer from it. With medical science making breakthroughs each day, it is one disorder that can be eliminated. With proper medication, those who suffer from insomnia can lead healthy, restful lives.

Organic Gardening

Organic gardening is growing without chemical fertilizers, naturally building the soil to support healthy plant life. Organic gardening is a constantly evolving dance that grants you to be a full participant in your garden. It is not a fad or new in any way. In fact, it is the oldest method of cultivation and had its first serious beginnings in Europe. It’s good for your family, and it’s less costly to do. Organic gardening is really about designing the garden as a complete ecosystem, a natural environment where the gardener is a participant, not an observer.

The key to organic gardening is to work with nature in the growing of plants so that the resources consumed by the garden can be replenished both minimally and consistently. Even though organic gardening does require a few changes in the way things are done from traditional gardening, you will swiftly discover organic gardening is easy and fun. Reduced pollution of the environment through recycling of garden, household and other wastes rather than dumping or burning them is seen as a beneficial by product.

One of the basic tenant of organic gardening is to “Feed the soil and the soil will feed the plants”. This involves the mysterious world of compost making. Organic compost is a great soil conditioner, is nutrient rich and will give your plants, crops and flowers all they need to prosper. Organic matter (decayed plant material) is an essential ingredient in fertile soils, improving the soil tilth while preventing soil compaction and crusting. Adding organic matter improves any soil’s texture as well as attracting soil organisms that create nutrients in the soil.

Sadly, many people still view organic gardening as a niche or trend, not realizing the incredible benefits gained. Organic gardening benefits not only you and your family, but your land, animals and the earth. Benefits to our children and pets, which are often accidentally exposed to pesticides sprayed on people’s lawns and gardens. Benefits to wildlife if pesticide residue is kept out of our waterways and land. Benefits to the world (a current study has shown that global warming IS happening, and it IS caused by humans) by keeping pesticides, herbicides and fungicides out of our air and soil.

Remember that organic gardening is much more than preparing soil, using mulch, avoiding synthetic disease and pest controls, and planting your plants. When the children discover how much fun organic gardening is, they’ll look forward to making this a normal part of life when they grow up.

My baby’s weight

My 18 month old baby is kinda small for his age. He only weighs 9kg, sigh. His cousin, who’s 20 days younger than him is bigger and heavier than him, lol. My brother-in-law will be back soon for the festive celebrations and i cant wait to meet with Yuan-yuan. I called him up this afternoon to ask how his kid is doing but he’s presenting some term life insurance quote to a customer and says he’ll return my call later. He still hasnt called yet. But then, Chinese New Year is only about 2 weeks away. I can wait.
