How about going on a cruise this Summer?

If you are looking for a more relaxing way to enjoy your Summer holidays, i’d recommend you check out these cruises. A few of my friends have gone on these cruises before and they enjoy themselves very much. Sadly, i’m so lacking behind as far as vacations are concerned, lol. Yes, i’m a workaholic and prefer to sit in front of my pc all day long. But if those cruises offers high speed internet on board, i dont mind spending a week there.

Enjoy your Summer vacation

It’s Summer and most of my friends living in the States have gone for their Summer vacation. Jason told me they have planned for Orlando vacations a few months back. Too bad i wasnt able to join him this time. School break here is very different from theirs. Anyway, my kids are still too young to travel so far.

Malcolm only wants to nurse and i know he’ll be tugging at my shirt all the time throughout the entire flight. You wont understand this unless you are a breastfeeding mom, k. Until he’s weaned off me, overseas travel is a big no-no for me. Well, Summer just started. Hope you guys have a great time, ya. Enjoy!!!

Shopping for new office furniture

I may need to buy a new set of office furniture soon. The sides are peeling and the sharp edges may cut my hands if i’m not careful. Right now, i’ve filed the edges down with my nail file but i know this is not a good solution. I dont want those sharp edges to cut my kids hands too as they love to run their small hands along the edges of my desktop.

Hubby says he will accompany me to the office furniture shop tomorrow. And if i can find an affordable set of good quality office furniture, i wont hesitate to buy it back and throw away the one i’m using now. I wont buy an expensive set of office furniture as i want to wait till i’ve achieved my targeted income first. Then, i will reward myself with a good set of designer’s office furniture.

Hubby may need hair transplants soon

Have you ever wondered if plucking white hair will cause more to grow in its place? I have a lot of white hair all over my head and used to pluck my white hair as they grow out. To me, this is faster than dyeing them, lol. But certainly not a permanent solution to white hair. I’ve asked my hairdresser this question many times over. He says if i continue to pluck white hairs over and over again, especially at the same place, it may cause permanent balding. This is also known as traction alopecia.

I may not notice it at first, but sooner or later, hair will stop growing and leave a permanent bald patch where they once were. If that’s the case, i may have to resort to hair transplants to cover the bald patch up one day. I’ve been to hair transplants centers before and they do the job pretty well. Hair transplant cost is rather high as far as i know. I personally feel that if hair transplant surgery can cover up bald patches well, i’d still go for it. I may have a headful of hair now, but who knows. Twenty thirty years down the road, and at the rate they drop off, i may end up with barely enough to keep my head warm, lol.

One thing to note is white hair is more of a genetic cause more than anything else. Some say it’s due to stress. But as far as i know, it’s more due to lack a certain nutrients and genetic factors that contributes to the white hair and also balding. Hubby’s hair loss rate faster than me. Does that mean he needs hair transplants later on. Well, if we have the money, i’d ask him to go for celebrity hair transplants. Nothing beats having a head full of hair to make you look young. If you need more information on hair transplants, feel free to check out the rest of the articles here.

Rare coins makes good gold investment

My brand new Nokia N82’s surface sports a tiny scratch. As i dont own a bluetooth headset, i still hold the phone to my ears when i pick the line up. I suspect the scratch was caused by my diamond earrings. Thos darn things cut through anything, you know. I guess i’m lucky as it’s only a tiny scratch, hardly noticeable to anyone but me. Still, it a new phone and my heart aches to see its surface scratched. *sulks*

I told hubby i dont want to wear them any more and asked him to buy me a new pair pf gold hoop earrings. I was at the jewelry shop the other day and fell in love with a pair. He told me gold is at a very favorable price now and he will get me a pair the next time we go there. In fact, he also wants to buy more gold coins. As usual, he’ll get them from the rare coin dealer. Well, if you are interested in rare coins, you can check out Monaco Rare Coin via the link here.

Do you own any massage gadgets?

I have so many massage gadgets but never took the time to use them. I have the both the Osim iSqueez and also the Ogawa Trinity eye massager. Didnt buy the iPilot as i dont have the space for it as i live with my in-laws. This will have to wait till i move to my own place next time. I took the Ogawa Trinity eye massager out to use last night as was surprised how comfortable my eyes became after only one session. It was a birthday present from hubby a few years back.

I’m going to place it on my work table right in front of me so that i can remember to use it more often. As for the Osim iSqueez, it’s right beside me now. Whenever i’m feeling stressed, i’ll turn it on and put my legs in it for a 15 minutes rest. The rollers are getting a tad noisy. Maybe i’ve not used it for a long time. Gotta send it back for servicing. Ahhhhh…. life’s bliss. If only i have the iPilot, then my life will be a perfect one…..

In a quest to cut down on living expense

I’m not very good at budgeting and planning my own expenses. I dont even note the price when i shop. Not a good thing, you know. But now that the economy is not getting any better, i have to start tracking my daily expenses. With hubby’s help, we’re slowly switching and replacing some of our household items with cheaper ones. And yes, lifestyle changes are mandatory. I’ve stopped going to the nearby Kopitiam for tea each day. Each trip costs us at least 10 bucks. That’s at least 200 bucks savings in a month.

We try to save where we can. As for food, we will still keep to buying organic products if possible. It’s not that easy to switch food items as my kids have gotten used to the taste. Of course that doesnt mean we wont try. We’ll just have to take it one step at a time. If we find an alternative product at a lower price, we’ll buy it back and see if they take to the new taste or not. if they do, good. If not, the both of us will have to eat that till we find something that they really like. What are you doing to cut down on expenses?

Me and my Mooncup

I’m officially out of organic tampon, lol. I’ve searched all my drawers hoping to find a forgotten piece stashed somewhere. Nope, no more, zilch. Organic tampons are rather costly here. In the end, i dug out my long forgotten Mooncup. You know what a Mooncup is? It’s a menstrual cup, made of medical grade silicone. It’s nests snugly inside the vagina just below the cervix, catching the menstrual blood that flows out of the uterus.

The Mooncup is the most environmental friendly product for my monthly needs. With the Mooncup, i dont have to buy organic tampons or organic pads ever. I save the environment, save money and save time too. To clean it between use, i just boil it in hot water for a few minutes. Have you used a Mooncup before? If you havent, it’s time you make the change.

PMS and stress

I finally figured out why i was so bloated for the most of last week. I was PMS-ing, lol. I dont usually have symptoms associated with PMS, but lately, i can feel them. Could it be due to hormone changes at middle age? I’m already in my mid thirties. I do get stressed easily about a week right before my period also. Someone recommended that i take some kava kava to help relief the stress during PMS. Told me i can sleep better too as my mind will be calm after that. Oh well, if i can find them at the pharmacy, i dont mind giving it a try. If not, i’m sure i can find kava kava online.

Butter Bell

Someone told me about an item called the Butter Bell. It’s used to keep butter outside the fridge without it going bad for a long time. I havent seen a Butter Bell before but from what i researched, it’s really a simple tableware. I hate using butter straight out of the fridge as it leaves tears in my bread, lol. Unless i take them out in advance, which i dont half the time. Anyone seen a Butter Bell here? Let me know where to get it so that i can buy a few back.
