Ease Sore Throat At Home

I hate having a sore throat. My throat feels dry and irritated half the time. Being a person who doesnt like to take medication unless the medical condition is life threatening, i will resort to simple home remedies to help ease sore throat.

Here are just some of the ways i do to ease sore throat at home:

1) Get plenty of rest and drink a lot of fluids.

2) Gargle with warm salt water (1 teaspoon of salt per glass of water).

3) Suck on frozen treats like home-made popsicles

4) Use a humidifier whenever possible.

Well, if you are suffering from a sore throat, i hope these few tips will help you out.

Doodling Helps Give Your Memory A Boost

Business meetings can be boring. A friend of mine nearly got himself a warning letter as he nearly fell asleep during an important business meeting. Well, if you ever found yourself nodding off in the middle of one, you may want to get hold of lots of paper before you head into the conference room.

Why? You can always doodle away whenever you feel bored. According to a study conducted by Jackie Andrade, PhD, of the School of Psychology at England’s University of Plymouth, doodling may boost memory. Not only does doodling helps ease the boredom, it might help you remember snippets of key information that’s mentioned in those conversations too.

Stressful Nights

Let me tell you why i will never ever buy a quilt that needs a separate cover. I bought one as it was on SALE a few months back and regretted it ever since. As you know, we have to secure the quilt corners to the quilt covers with ribbons on the inside corners, right. No matter how tight i tie those ribbons, they will come off. Half the time, i find myself pulling on an empty quilt cover in the middle of the night. And when i do find the quilt, it’ll be all lumped up inside, ggggrrrrrrrrr.

That’s it, i’m ditching it on my next trip to the linen store. I need new sheets anyway. Saw this Sferra range online and hubby says he likes it very much too. Shall i buy it back for our Wedding Anniversary? It’s only two days away…..

Can Teenagers Take Diet Pills?

I was very shocked when i got to know that a relative of my neighbor’s gives her teenage daughter a diet pill every other day to help her lose weight. My God. What kind of mother is that. Instead of telling her daughter to eat a good diet and exercise more, she go give her diet pills. This is NOT THE RIGHT WAY for teenagers to lose weight. My neighbor told me she did advice her over this, but her relative wouldnt listen. What can she do? If you have a teenager who keeps complaining about their weight, tell them to go run at the field each day. Will surely do them good.

The Blogaholic In Me

My right hand is in pain again. I believe this is due to my sitting here all day long working on my blogs. I am in the midst of revamping a few of them, deleting codes, links and such. A lot of work, blehhh. But a blogger needs to do what a blogger needs to do to be a better blogger, sigh.

I really want to get things done by Friday as i need the weekend to go look for auto performance parts with my cousin. A friend told me i can always buy them online. I know. I’m good at online shopping, lol. Well, i just want to take it as a reason to hang out with my cousin, k. Havent met her for a long time.

Are You A Smart Shopper?

Many of my friends are not fond of online shopping. They still prefer to go to the mall and see the real thing before they buy. I told them they can always go check the items out at the mall, then come back and make price comparisons online. If they see an item selling for less online, then it’s considered a good buy. Now that the economy is so bad, we all need to save as much as possible. I only shop when there is a sale on. But if you love to shop online, perhaps check out the link i left here in this post. You may find some great deals there.

Heated Mattress Pads

My sister’s sister-in-law went back to USA last weekend. As Chinese New Year is well and over with, my sister gave her house a thorough cleaning. She complained that her SIL left behind many things for her to throw away. Same goes to mine. My SIL also loves to come over her and spend the night here with her kids. And you should see the mess they leave behind too. And no, i dont clean up after them. Let my MIL clean up after her own daughter. After all, she thinks that her daughter are always right.

Anyway, back to my sis. She found a bag with two heated mattress pads under the bed. She’s now in a dilemma whether to send them over to her in-laws or give them away. The thing is, no one will ever have use for heated mattress pads here. We can do with a few extra air-conds, lol. Knowing her, she’ll most probably get her hubby to send them over to his mom’s. Me, i’ll most probably throw them away and keep quiet about it, lol.

Romantic Getaway On Valentine’s Day

I’m trying to get some serious work done but my internet line is so not cooperating, damn. I wonder how long do i have to wait to see my photos up at Flickr. An hour? LOLZ!!!! In a way, i’m glad that i only need to keep an eye on my kids until it’s bedtime. I also need to take a rest when i put them to bed later. Then, wake up a couple of hours later to continue with my work. I didnt sleep much last night as by #2 only went to sleep at around 3.30am. By then, i no longer have to mood to even do anything.

Earlier this evening, i had a chat with my old friend on MSN. She asked me if i’m doing anything special or not on Valentine’s Day. I dont think so. The economy isnt that good and i also hate the fact i have to pay double to triple the price just so to have romantic meal with hubby. What’s the point, right. At the end of the day, only retailers and restaurateurs profit. Moreover, nothing special about the usual dinner, roses, diamonds and chocolates also, right.

My friend then told me her hubby booked them to an Adults Only Hotel for the weekend. Wuah, how adventurous, lol. We dont have such a thing here. Maybe one day, when the kids are bigger and i can go on a holiday without worrying about them being left home with my in-laws. Well, if you are clueless as to how to spend a romantic getaway with your darling on Valentine’s Day,then consider this Adults Only Hotel. You really dont need to take much there, haha.

Ready To Become A Vegetarian?

There was a time when all i wanted was to become a full vegetarian. I thought all i needed to do was to eat only organic vegetables for life, and that’s it. It never occurred to me that there are many forms of vegatarian. A friend pointed me to this article on Vegetarian and Vegan Diet at WebMD and it opened up my eyes to a whole new world of vegetarianism. From lacto-ovo vagetarians to vegans to raw foodies to pescatarians to fruitarians, my goodness. If you want to find out more about becoming a vegatarian, i think it’s best you go read the article to find out which category suits you best.
