If you have a son, and he walks up to you one day telling you he wants to go to cosmetology school, would you allow it? That’s what happened to my friend. She got married right after she left school and her kid is already 18 this year. As both she and her hubby had to work hard to make ends meet, she seldom gets the chance to communicate with her kid. So, it’s not surprising why she sounded so perplexed when she called me up this noon. I told her it’s common for guys to be in the beauty industry these days. My hairdresser is a guy, my favorite make-up counter at the mall has a guy as its beauty consultant. There’s actually a high demand for guys in the beauty industry as they can communicate and interact better with female. She told me she’ll think it over before deciding whether to let her son attend the cosmetology school or not. Did you know that Mandarin Oranges are called “Kam” in Cantonese. It literally means “Gold”. So, if you are eating mandarin oranges, do note that you are literally eating gold, lol. I still have about half a crate of mandarin oranges left. We bought a few back as part of our CNY gifts to friends and relatives. I dare not eat much as i usually cough a lot after eating mandarin oranges. My kids are also coughing a bit. I’ll leave some for them inside the fridge so that they can still enjoy them later on when they’ve stopped coughing. My MIL asked me if i’d like to go to the goldsmith with her tomorrow or not. It’s only the first week of the new school term and yet, i have a few friends planning the first term holidays, lol. Give me a break. I’m really not looking forward to another long dreaded school holidays so soon. Let me have some me-time for a couple of months, ok. You can then come talk to me about Kid friendly resort and such. I just remembered that hubby asked me to help him look for a Las Vegas cpa firm. He has a friend there and she wants to file her taxes next year. Come to think of it, i’m also thinking of filing mine come next year. I’ve not file one for more than a decade and wonder if i should start next year or not. Well, i still have a few months to think about it. let me have a word with my tax consultant friends and see if they can provide with an answer or not. I wont have much time to blog after next week. It’s the end of another school term again. And this time, hubby is away a lot. I’m left home to care for my two brats alone, sobbbb. My sis asked me to go over to her place with my kids during the day. That way, her kids can help me look after mine, and i can also help keep an eye on hers, lol. What a good deal, eh. I was chatting with my niece the other day and she asked me to help her friend look for a Cosmetology School. She wants to take up a beauty course. I went back to my mom’s this noon and she asked me if i’ve seen a rare gold coin before or not. I told her my in-laws have some but they’ve kept it at the safe deposit box at the bank. She told me my cousin received one on her wedding last weekend. Good for her. I hope she will treasure it. Hmmmm…. how come no one gave me a rare gold coin when i got married, lol. I’m gotta help a friend look for Disney Tickets online. She’ll be taking her kids there for a holiday end of this year. How lucky. I dont think i can afford to take mine to Disneyland as the exchange rate is not favorable at the moment. It’s just not worth it, man. Are you planning to go to Disneyland anytime soon? The A(H1N1) virus is still rearing its ugly head. Many of my friends have canceled their family vacation plans this Summer. Anyway, Summer vacation is coming to an end and kids will have to go back to school soon. I hope the Health Authorities can come up with a good way to combat this deadly virus. I hope to take my kids to visit the Riviera Maya this year end. I’ve heard so much about this wonderful place and am dying to swim in its waters. Hubby can keep an eye on the kids. I’m sure those hot and sexy bikini-clad lasses will keep him occupied too, lol!!!!

I took a long nap when i put my kids to bed just now. My toddler woke up a while ago to pee. He’s officially off nappy for good and i’m very happy for him. I get to save some money each month too. Good, eh. I told a few friends and some of them are also waiting for the day when their toddlers can be nappy-free too. I still have half a packet of nappied left. I’ll kepp that for the time being. It’ll still come useful when we go on long car trips. I have a friend who still makes her kid wear nappies if they were to travel in the car for long hours. Talking of cars just reminded me that i need to help a friend look for portable hand controls. The one at this site here should be alright. It has good controls that can collapse for storage when traveling. It’s also easy to install and remove on most vehicles. I’d better shoot her an email now and see if this is what she wants. I’ll buy it for her straight from the site and have it delivered to her doorstep.

I have a friend who’s allergic to gold jewelry. She received quite a lot of gold jewelry when she got married a few months back. She now wants to sell them off. I personally do not wear much gold jewelry. I also want to sell some of mine off if the price of gold is high enough. Hubby says to hold on to it longer if i’m not desperate for cash. I told him the day i sell my gold, i’ll go buy myself lots of rare gold coins and keep them as our family heirloom. Both my boys can have them when they grow up and become responsible adults.
