Facts About Organic Baby Food

Quite simply, organic baby food is that which is processed without the use of artificial pesticides and/or synthetic fertilizers. While many note organic food as being either store-bought, garden grown or gathered in the wild, the correct association is certified organic foods, which are produced and labeled according to strict regulatory standards. In a number of countries, including the United Says, the use of the word ‘organic’ in the commercial market, without the proper certification, is prohibited by law.
Organic baby food is most commonly found in a supermarket and will be labeled accordingly. Because of it’s nature, organic baby food is more pricey than other types. Processed organic baby food typically includes only those ingredients that are organic and has no artificial food additives. While there seem to a number of benefits to using organic baby food, the most common reason for purchasing this type of product is the overall quality. Increased nutritional value, the absence of residues from artificial pesticides and better taste are all positive benefits of organic baby food.

Organic baby food, because it is believed to be fresher, often carries an improved taste over other baby foods. Because organic farms are small, their products are most commonly sold close to home. Therefore, organic baby food and other products feature a fresher taste simply because they’re fresh.

By 2003, organic food products were available in 20,000 natural food stores and 73% of commercial grocery stores. While many believe that organic baby food is helpful, others are not as certain. Some believe that farming and organic fertilization might carry it’s own risks that may be passed along in organic baby food.

The main debate lies with the better approach to manufacturing organic food. Is it more healthy to use artificial and synthetic products in food processing or natural fertilizer and organic farming methods? There are both sides to any debate and the questions surrounding organic baby food is no different. There’s legitimate concern over contamination and safety of organic food and products, but an exact determination as to which side of the table is right has yet to be decided.

Organic Skin Care Routine

Skin has many important functions in our body such as: protection, excretion and nourishing. It protects against UV rays by absorbing and converting them into dark pigment to prevent further damage. The skin is also the largest excretion organ, eliminating bodily waste through its pores. Its oily glands secrete sebum, which maintains the elasticity of the skin’s surface. The water skin storage helps metabolic reactions, minerals and vitamins absorption.

This day, when people are more concerned about side effects, due to chemicals in personal care, when traces of parabens (preservatives) were found in breast tissue, organic herbs and genuine oils in skincare formulations become a necessity.

The general knowledge about herbs as ingredients in personal care along with the understanding of skin functions can open unlimited possibilities for people to select a proper skin routine, free of side effects.

A natural and organic treatment for the skin has the same importance for your inner health as a natural and organic food. The natural and organic skin care routine becomes the new way of finding the right approach to feed the skin.

Skin requires water, vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, proteins for its cells as much as your inner body needs them for a proper metabolic function of its organs. This is the natural and valid way of obtaining a younger looking skin for a long period of time while keeping the skin healthy.

The name natural or organic in skin care becomes very controversial since usually natural ingredients are blended with chemical ingredients for the sake of nice and fluffy structure and for a long and strong preservation of the products.

If you’re looking for a nice looking cream with white and fluffy structure you will never find it to be a real natural cream unless they contain bleach and/or stabilizers.

One or two natural ingredients are not enough to begin all chain reactions necessary to promote extended collagen and elastin production, or other vital metabolic reactions.

Many chemical ingredients in a formulation that also contain natural ingredients can induce oxidation of the last releasing free radicals that can damage the skin.

On the other hand, chemical substances can mimic similar structures with natural active constituents and compete for the same cell receptors. The result is the diminishing of the effects of the natural constituents.

Some chemicals are very hard to eliminate from the skin due to their unrecognizable structure and tend to accumulate in different parts of the body and even block the skin pores makes the toxin elimination very difficult.

In conclusion: Be very careful when you select a natural cream; be aware when you see more than one or two unknown names (chemicals) in a natural product. Be picky as if you were choosing a proper outfit. Don’t be tricked by fancy advertising. Look carefully at the ingredients of your skin care products as you would look for side effects on a prescription medication.

Me and my Mooncup

I’m officially out of organic tampon, lol. I’ve searched all my drawers hoping to find a forgotten piece stashed somewhere. Nope, no more, zilch. Organic tampons are rather costly here. In the end, i dug out my long forgotten Mooncup. You know what a Mooncup is? It’s a menstrual cup, made of medical grade silicone. It’s nests snugly inside the vagina just below the cervix, catching the menstrual blood that flows out of the uterus.

The Mooncup is the most environmental friendly product for my monthly needs. With the Mooncup, i dont have to buy organic tampons or organic pads ever. I save the environment, save money and save time too. To clean it between use, i just boil it in hot water for a few minutes. Have you used a Mooncup before? If you havent, it’s time you make the change.

Alce Nero organic Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce

As i said earlier, i’ll be buying some Alce Nero pasta sauce once mine is finished. I did just that. Bought two bottles of Alce Nero Tomato and Basil pasta sauce over the weekend. I havent had a chance to try it out yet. It’s midnight here now, lol. I’ll make some for my kid for breakfast tomorrow. He loves Alce Nero organic pasta very much and the Alce Nero organic pasta sauce will compliment the noodles very much.

I wonder if my toddler will like it just as much as his brother does. I saw some Alce Nero organic pasta in a different shape and size too. Like tiny pieces of tubes. He may like that more than the spaghetti. If i go to the store again this weekend, i’ll buy a packet back for him IF he likes the pasta sauce, lol.

What is organic food?

I’ve been eating organic food for a long time. Simply put, organic food is pure food that’s free from all genetically modified organisms. They are produced without artificial pesticides and fertilizers and derived from an animal reared without the routine use of antibiotics, growth promoters or other drugs.

Organic foods were once only available in small stores or farmers’ markets. But now, they are becoming much more widely available. Organic foods have been shown to improve your immune system. They can also help you sleep better, shed the excess weight more easily, and improve your blood work just to name a few. To me, organic food tastes better, and have a higher vitamin and mineral content.

Organic coffee prices on the rise

Organic coffee continues to remain a premium product at extravagant prices. Currently, a 12 oz. bag of dark roasted shade grown fair trade organic coffee can climb upwards of $12. Light roasted organic coffee goes for about $3 less, depending on the store you’re buying it from. Adding to organic coffee’s exclusivity is the size of the world organic coffee market which remains mired at less than 1 percent in all of the major coffee consuming countries.

Despite its status, this item continues to be diverse, offering organic coffee products that include coffee sodas, decaffeinated, caffeinated, and flavored coffees. All in all, remember that organic coffee is a safe alternative to the mass produced, environmentally unconscious coffees made this day.

Learn how to read organic beauty product labels

First things first, just because a skin care product claims to be organic, do not assume that it is. Organic beauty products are not regulated by the FDA or the USDA, so manufacturers have a lot of leeway when it comes to advertising. Many less reputable skin care companies will use the words natural beauty product or organic, even if the product contains several synthetic ingredients. The best way to find out if an organic skin care product is truly organic is by checking the ingredients. You should recognize most (if not all) of the organic beauty ingredients listed on an organic beauty product. If there are names on your organic skin care product label that look unfamiliar to you, chances are high that the ingredients are non organic beauty quality.

You also need to be mindful of certain words that might appear on the organic skin care product packaging. If the words organic and natural are present, this simply means that the organic skin care product was made with SOME certified ingredients. It does not represent a 100% organic product; nor does it represent a chemical free product. The only phrase than ensures a completely organic product is certified organic with no synthetic ingredients.

Remember, even if you’re shopping for specialty products like acne skin care regimens or anti aging skin care products, the chances are good that you can find them in an organic line. Just remember to carefully read the labels of any acne skin care system or anti aging skin care product before you purchase it because it claims to be organic. Finding the best skin care product is not hard, but be sure to do your research when you are looking for the best skin care product for you.

Organic farming vs. Conventional farming

Traditional farmers use chemical fertilizers in the soil to grow crops. Organic farmers build soil with natural fertilizer *In traditional farming, insecticides are used to kill the insects and diseases. Organic farmers use insect predators and barriers *Traditional farmers control weed growth by applying synthetic herbicides but crop rotation, tillage, hand weeding and mulches control weeds in Organic fields

Organic foods are not absolutely chemical free, but the pesticide residues will be much lower than those found in produce manufactured with synthetic chemicals.
